Arch Hangars in Kazakhstan

An arch hangar is a structure with a curved roof in which the roof and the load-bearing element are combined in a single profile. Available in two configurations: frameless (roll-formed profile) and framed (trusses + metal decking).

Types of Arch Hangars

Frameless (roll-formed) Steel profile is roll-formed directly on site and curved into an arch. The most economical solution. Span — up to 30 m, ridge height — up to 10–12 m.

Framed arch Metal arch trusses + roofing material (profiled sheeting or sandwich panels). Allows spans of 60+ m and practically any height. More expensive, but more functional.

Where Arch Hangars Are Used

  • storage of grain, feed and fertiliser;
  • shelter for agricultural machinery and vehicle fleets;
  • storage of construction materials;
  • sports halls and covered arenas;
  • temporary warehouses and industrial sites.

Limitations

  • Side wall height: in a frameless hangar the walls are practically absent — the structure starts from the ground. This reduces useful volume at the edges.
  • Insulation: attaching sandwich panels to an arched surface is considerably more complex than to a vertical wall.
  • Expansion: a bay can only be added along the length, not the width.

Ключевой вывод
An arch hangar is a good choice for cold storage on a limited budget. For an insulated building or non-standard height requirements, a straight-wall framed option is generally more practical.
